Authorities use Find My iPhone to track suspected car thief

TOMBALL, Texas (KTRK) -- Tomball police were able to track down a suspected car thief by using his alleged victim's iPhone.

Officials say the suspect stole an SUV in Tomball. The owner's iPhone was still in the vehicle.

Using the Find My iPhone app, police located the vehicle and tried to stop the suspect.

He tried to get away, hitting at least two other cars before crashing outside Grace Presbyterian Church in west Houston.

The suspect is in the hospital with a leg injury.
