Public asked to avoid Anadarko Tower demolition in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- A recognizable building in The Woodlands is slated for demolition this weekend, but police are asking the public to avoid the spectacle.

The old Anadarko Tower is slated for a pre-dawn demolition this Sunday. Visibility of the implosion will be limited due to the surrounding tree cover, and authorities have not established a public viewing area.

During the demolition, parts of Timberloch and Woodloch Forest will be closed to traffic. It will not impact traffic on Woodlands Parkway or the nearby North Freeway.

It will only take 10 seconds for the 11-story tower to come tumbling down.
