Authorities are investigating the deaths of two people at different apartment units

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County Investigators have released the names of two people found shot to death in northeast Harris County.

The bodies of Kathrine Gingrich, 26, Johnny Holcomb, 33, were found in separate apartments in a duplex located in the 14,000 block of Alderson Street.

Gingrich's body was discovered by her boyfriend around 4pm yesterday afternoon, when he returned from work. He says he last saw her alive early that morning, around 6:30am, when he was leaving for work.

When he found her, he told deputies he left to contact his aunt, Linda Campos, who lives down the street. They returned and contacted 911.

"I ran in there with him and she was laying face down. The 911 caller kept telling us turn her around. I said I can't turn her around. She's cold! She's dead!" Campos said.

When deputies arrived, they learned the victim was good friends with Holcomb, the neighbor next door, and he was not answering the door. Deputies looked through his window, and discovered he had also been shot and killed.

Holcomb's wife Wilma says, he'd only been staying at the apartment for one week, after they had a falling out, and they were patching things up.

She says, "How do you tell a 4-year-old that there dad's not coming back? I really hope somebody figured out what happened. I mean he may be no body, but he's somebody to someone," she said.

Wilma Holcomb says Johnny had eight children. He had a past and was turning things around. She doesn't know if his past caught up with him.

"I don't know if it's him or the girl next door. I just know it's not right and I really hope somebody figures out what happened. He may be nobody, but he's somebody to me," Holcomb said.
