Man charged with murder after neighbor stabbed, killed

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man accused of stabbing his neighbor to death now faces murder charges.

The Houston Police Department says Huntley James Grichor, 26, stabbed Shannon James Gallagher, 25, early Sunday morning at the Gables West Avenue Apartments on Kirby.

Investigators the Grichor got into a fight with Gallagher at a nearby bar. The two men later arrived at the same apartment building and spotted each other in the hallway.

Police say that's when the argument escalated and Grichor stabbed and killed Gallagher.

Police detained Grichor and charged him with murder. He is out on a $50,000 bond and is due back in court on Oct. 28.
