Worker hurt when car slams into dry cleaners
An employee was injured Wednesday when a vehicle slammed into a dry cleaning business.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A worker at a River Oaks dry cleaning business was rushed to a hospital after a car slammed into the building on West Alabama.

The driver was parking in a spot when we're told he hit the gas instead of the brakes and plowed right through the dry cleaners.

This all happened around 1:30pm at Bon Express Cleaners on West Alabama. The Lincoln came to a stop in the back of the dry cleaning business, injuring a woman who was working there.

The driver is 69 years old and we're told he may have been a customer. There's no word on what may have caused him to mistake the gas pedal for the brakes, but we're told there were several prescription medications in his front seat.

"It was like an explosion, like a collision or something," said witness Tim Hall. "They went in to see if he was OK, but the lady was hurt. They took her to the hospital."

"It happened 10 or 12 years ago, before we put up the stops," said strip center owner Louis Macey. "We put stops up and it hadn't happened since."
