Devastating fire kills 5 dogs in New Caney

NEW CANEY, TX (KTRK) -- A family escaped with their lives after a fire swept through their home in New Caney.

Sadly, five dogs were lost in the fire along with everything the family owns.

A woman was treated for smoke inhalation after the flames overtook the home on Oak Grove Lane.

Firefighters managed to save two dogs, but said the house is a total loss.

The owner of the home lost all the memories she had of her late son, who died four months ago in a motorcycle crash.
