Mystery surrounds death of woman found in remote area of Missouri City

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police are working to identify the body of a woman found on an oil field service road Sunday afternoon.

A service worker was making his afternoon rounds when he discovered the woman's body off of Blue Ridge Road in a remote section of Missouri City.

Investigators say the woman was lying in the middle of the road. She had been shot multiple times.

Police are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.

Limited information has been released by investigators, but they say the victim was either in her teens or early twenties.

It's not clear if the woman was killed near that service road or if her body was dumped there.

Police have not identified the victim.
