Chinese artists begin carving Moody Garden's Ice Land
For the next month and a half, these artists will make a winter wonderland at Moody Gardens out of millions of pounds of ice.

GALVESTON, Texas -- While we're still a few months off from the Christmas holidays, Moody Gardens is getting ready now.

Renowned Chinese artists arrived in Galveston yesterday to help bring their annual Ice Land attraction to life for the holiday season.

Working in shifts, the team will be at Moody Gardens around the clock for the next 43 days.

Their mission is monumental: transform two million pounds of ice into one magical and majestic work of art.

This year's theme is "Rainforest Holiday," and is set to open on November 11, running through the Christmas season.
