Victim shot by robbers while riding bicycle in Pasadena

PASADENA, TX

At about 9:30am, a man in his 20s was riding his bicycle on Watters near Palos Verdes when he was approached by two men in a maroon or red compact Toyota. They demanded cash and a cell phone.

The victim was then pistol-whipped and shot in the neck by one of the men. The bullet exited his shoulder blade. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight.

"The victim was ultimately struck in the head with a pistol, so he was pistol-whipped, and then they shot him one time," said Pasadena Police spokesperson Vance Mitchell. "The bullet went in in his neck and exited in his back below his shoulder blade."

The victim's condition is not known.

No additional information on the suspects is available, but anyone who spots two men in a red or maroon Toyota is advised to call police.
