Authorities are searching for a man wanted in a domestic violence case from earlier this year.

On the afternoon of May 4, 2012, law enforcement says Markel Devon Kallie entered the apartment of a former girlfriend after an argument had erupted over the telephone. As Kallie came into the victim's kitchen, he held a butcher's knife to his throat threatening suicide. The victim reached for her cell phone to call for help.

After a struggle, Kallie threw the victim's phones into the kitchen sink filled with water. After a verbal altercation, Kallie grabbed the victim by her hair, and repeatedly punched her in the face, threatening her life. Kallie struck the victim at least 15 times, finally throwing the victim through a second story glass window.

Neighbors intervened, and Kallie fled the scene.

Kallie is charged with assault of a family member as a second-time family violence offender. A warrant was issued for his arrest with a $30,000 bond.
