La Porte police say Kevin Andrew Wheeler was employed as a teacher and coach at La Porte High School when the alleged incident occurred during the 2011-2012 school year.
Wheeler, 31, was arrested Wednesday and is scheduled to be in court on Thursday. He faces two counts of improper relationship between educator and student.
His bond is set at $100,000.
