The Brazos County Sheriff's Office says Joan Burns and Willie Griffin Jr. were charged Tuesday with tampering with evidence.
Bond is $825,000 for Griffin, who was arrested March 8 on aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.
WTAW Radio reports Burns was freed on $15,000 bond Tuesday night. No information was immediately available on attorneys for the pair.
Officials say Burns on Monday told investigators she was on the phone with Griffin the night he allegedly kidnapped another person. Burns reported she heard Griffin tell the alleged victim to "put down the gun."
The jailer later recanted and said Burns told her what to say.
