Protestors blame H-E-B for blocking 'sanctuary cities' bill

HOUSTON They rallied outside the location on Buffalo Speedway in southwest Houston on Saturday afternoon.

The protestors claim the CEO of H-E-B and other business leaders killed the legislation that would have allowed local law enforcement to ask a person's immigration status.

H-E-B released a statement, reading in part, "H-E-B does not hire illegal immigrants. We believe comprehensive immigration reform is necessary and needed. We also support the efforts of local law enforcement across the state."
