Prosecutors say four Phoenix boys ages 9 to 14 have been charged with the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl whom they allegedly lured to a storage shed with chewing gum. Police Sgt. Andy Hill says the boys held the girl down while they took turns sexually assaulting her. All five children are refugees from the West African nation of Liberia.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office says the 14-year-old boy was being charged as an adult and faces two counts of sexual assault and kidnapping.

The other boys are being charged as juveniles. The 9-year-old is charged with one count of sexual assault, the 10-year-old faces two counts of the charge and one of kidnapping, and a 13-year-old is charged with three counts of sexual assault and one of kidnapping.

The boys are being held in a juvenile corrections facility while the girl is in the care of Child Protective Services.
