Out of control driver slams into home

HOUSTON It happened around 2:45am on Wilcrest near Bexley. Police said the driver of a Ford Taurus was going at a high rate of speed when he lost control. The car slid into a yard, hit a tree and then went airborne before hitting the home's roof and landing at the front door.

Amazingly, the driver of the car survived after firefighters cut him out.

"I can't believe that he's alive," said neighbor Rachel Gottlieb. "All the car was smashed up and smashed."

"He knocked my gate down," said the homeowner. "I don't know what other damage is done to the house. I don't know."

The homeowner says the car landed just feet from her bedroom, where she was sound asleep at the time.
