Four injured in officer involved accident

HOUSTON The HPD unit was headed east on Hammerly at Pech responding to another's officer call for assistance. Police say the driver of another car got confused and ended up getting in the way.

"He was riding with his lights and sirens on when a citizen vehicle that was in front of him didn't know apparently didn't know which way to go and cut in front of the path of the officer," said Sgt. D. Morgan with the Houston Police Department.

The officer hit that vehicle from behind. Three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The officer also went to the hospital as a precaution.
