UT continues domination of Baylor

WACO, TX Damion James had 19 points and 10 rebounds and the Longhorns won 82-77 Saturday for their fifth straight victory, and 22nd in a row against Baylor.

Baylor closed the game with a 15-6 run, a stretch when the Longhorns (21-4, 8-2 Big 12) missed seven free throws -- including three straight one-and-one chances. Tweety Carter and Henry Dugat had consecutive 3-pointers for the Bears (17-7, 5-5).

The Bears were within 77-76 with 28 seconds left when A.J. Abrams stepped out of bounds in the backcourt for a turnover. Except Baylor gave it right back when Aaron Bruce, with nobody to throw the ball in to, called a timeout the Bears didn't have and got a technical foul.

Abrams hit the first of his free throws, then Carter was fouled and hit a free throw -- the last point for Baylor coming with 16 seconds left.

D.J. Augustin then hit two free throws for Texas, which never trailed in the game.

James is among the four returning Texas starters who were in the lineup last season with Durant, the sensational freshman who was then the second overall pick by Seattle. Durant watched his old teammates during the NBA All-Star weekend.

Abrams had 13 points, while Gary Johnson and Justin Mason had 12 each. Connor Atchley had 11 points.

LaceDarius Dunn and Dugat each had 19 points for Baylor, which has lost five of six since its getting into the national rankings for the first time since 1969.
