MONTGOMERY COUNTY (KTRK) -- Two sisters are in serious trouble, with one facing charges, after they took a joy ride in their grandmother's car.

According to police, the 12-year-old girl took the car with her 7-year-old sister from the New Caney area. Conroe police chased the car through Montgomery County where it eventually stalled at Montgomery High School.

During the chase, authorities believe the car reached speeds of 100mph. Police said the kids side-swiped two vehicles during the chase.

"She was slowing down coming through Montgomery because OnStar took control of the vehicle," Montgomery Police Sgt. Becky Lehn said. "So she was slowing down probably in 50s, 60s going through and then pulled over at the high school. I believe the car stalled."

The 12-year-old will be charged with evading arrest, according to authorities.
