"In the most diverse city in the country, we will not support those who attack people because of their faith or their color," said Mayor Sylvester Turner.
Officials released the names of all 11 victims during a news conference Sunday, all of them middle-aged or elderly.
Organizer Shay Khatiri said funds raised will support survivors and victims' families. Funds will also be used to help the congregation repair physical damage to the building as a result of the deadly shooting at Tree of Life synagogue.
