The Big 12 could not reach consensus on possible expansion candidates and will remain at 10 schools for now.
Sources told ESPN the Big 12 has cut its list of candidates to at least 12 schools: Air Force, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado State, UConn, Houston, Rice, South Florida, SMU, Temple and Tulane.
In a letter to Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, several LGBT advocacy groups said that admitting BYU as an expansion school would be "inconsistent with Big 12 membership values."
