Suspect barricaded inside Kingwood apartment after allegedly strangling his partner, Houston Police Department says

A SWAT scene was underway on Saturday morning after a man barricaded himself in a Kingwood apartment, accused of strangling his partner, Houston police say.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to the Kingwood Lakes Apartments at 3700 Kingwood Drive for a call that came in at about 2:50 a.m. Investigators said a woman told officers that her male partner had strangled her.

Authorities said the man then barricaded himself alone inside an apartment unit. Police said that SWAT units responded to the scene at about 7 a.m. By 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, ABC13 crews observed that the scene was no longer active.

Authorities have not released information on whether anyone was placed into custody. Authorities also did not release the condition of the woman involved.
