Milo Hamilton: Funeral arrangements announced for Astros broadcasting legend

Milo Hamilton's broadcast career spanned more than six decades

Milo Hamilton's family recently released funeral arrangements, which include an opportunity for fans to pay their respects at a public period of remembrance.

The legendary Astros broadcaster died Thursday. He was 88 years old.

The public visitation will be held at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons at 1010 Berin Drive on Friday, September 25, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, and on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

A funeral service for family and close friends will be held Friday, September 25, at 11am in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.

The family will hold another service later in Iowa.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that memorial contributions in Milo's name be directed to the Astros Foundation c/o Minute Maid Park; 501 Crawford St., Houston, TX, 77002; or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5433 Westheimer Rd. #300, Houston, TX, 77056.
