HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Three people, including two teenagers, were critically hurt in a shooting Sunday night in a northwest Harris County residential area, authorities said.

Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of the shooting in the 3900 block of Pintan Lane near a community pool and playground just before 8:30 p.m.

Investigators said a group of juveniles and adults had gathered at a neighborhood park to "display their firearms and take photos with them."

HCSO said at one point, one person pointed a gun at others and demanded their firearms. That's when other people in the group allegedly fired, resulting in three people shot.

Two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old were hospitalized, the sheriff's office said, adding that two of them are still critical.

Anyone with information is urged to contact HCSO at 713-274-9365 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Editor's note: It was initially reported by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez that two of the shooting victims were in their early 20s. However, in a release, the sheriff's office said the victims' ages are 16, 16, and 18.
