Search for wanted person underway after traffic stop turns into foot chase, Harris Co. Pct. 2 says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A search is underway for a person who fled from officers on Wednesday morning, according to Harris County Precinct 2.

SkyEye13 flew over a heavy police presence surrounding a southeast Houston apartment complex on Belfort at around 10:20 a.m.

Based on preliminary information, Pct. 2 said a traffic stop involving a wanted individual escalated into a foot chase.

A law enforcement officer could be seen being treated at the scene, though authorities did not indicate whether anyone was seriously injured.

Pct. 2 said a ground search is still underway.
