Physician assistant accused of child indecency in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities say a physician assistant in The Woodlands is no longer licensed after he was arrested on a child indecency charge last month.

Last week, the Texas Physician Assistant Board disciplinary panel said it suspended Jonathon Edward Brown "after determining his continuation in practice as a physician assistant poses a continuing threat to public welfare."

The board said the suspension, which was effective immediately, came after they learned Brown was arrested Aug. 11 for child indecency, allegedly involving an 11-year-old child.

Montgomery County court documents reveal he "intended to arouse and gratify the sexual desire of himself, by engaging in sexual contact with a child."

Those charging documents said Brown and the 11-year-old girl are known to each other and were wrestling back on August 4th, when he touched her and made her feel uncomfortable.

Prosecutors said this was captured on Ring camera video.

The Texas Medical Board's website lists Brown's current primary practice at an address for Highlands Woods Health.

When ABC13 reached out to the company about the physician assistant, they provided this statement: "Jonathan Brown is a former employee of Highland Woods Health. He last saw patients in the office on Aug. 16, 2022."

Meanwhile, Brown's attorney tells ABC13 he denies the allegations against his client writing, "Mr. Brown has entered a plea of not guilty because he is not guilty, and under Texas law is presumed innocent."

A temporary suspension hearing on his medical license is set to be held unless it's specifically waived by Brown, the panel said.
