Beauty queen's husband tells his version of plane disturbance story after wife's acquittal

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Last week Carmin Lechin, Miss Venezuela 1984, sat down with us to clear her name.

A jury found her not guilty of disturbing the flight to Colombia in 2013. She told us she was only reacting to her husband. She said he hit her on the flight and the situation escalated.

"I've never hit my wife. She's been my companion for 30 years. Couldn't do it, not just her, any woman that is false," said Dr. Alex Lechin.

The couple is going through a contentious divorce.

Dr. Lechin says he just wants to move on with his life and he wishes her the best.
