Armed robbery suspect shot after leading authorities on chase in SW Houston, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An armed robbery suspect was shot after leading authorities on a chase in southwest Houston on Sunday evening, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, the chase started near 3100 S. Dairy Ashford Road near Richmond Avenue. HPD said the chase ended on Aspen Meadow Drive, where the suspect was shot after exiting his vehicle with a weapon in hand.

Details are limited. Authorities have not revealed the suspect's condition or why the chase started.

No officers were reported injured.
