America 250 art series reimagines Founding Fathers as cowboys

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- As the nation celebrates its Semiquincentennial, a new art series is giving some of the country's most recognizable historical figures a distinctly Western flair.

"Founding Fathers of the West" reimagines iconic portraits of America's founders as cowboys, blending Revolutionary history with the spirit of the American frontier. Lee Beach of El Paso, Texas is the artist.

"These men, you know, stood for constraint, conviction, and responsibility. A lot of the traits that I see in the cowboy. So, it was very fitting to give them a different perspective," Beach said.

The collection is now on display through mid-July at Six10 Windows & Doors located at 2308 Bissonnet Street in Houston.
