HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear?
If that sounds like you, there's no need to run to the store and buy something new. One fashionista says you just need to plan a little and think outside the box.
"You really have more in your closet than you think you do," said fashion stylist Wendy Patterson said.
Patterson often creates a look book for her clients to show them exactly what they already have in their wardrobe. Creating a look book not only helps save money, but reduces stress and all the wasted time it takes milling around your closet.
"Pull out a bunch of things and snap some pictures. It's really a great way to stretch your dollar. You realize you have so much more than you think you do and don't have to buy something new every time an occasion comes up," Patterson said.
To prove her point, Patterson turned one wardrobe staple into a week's worth of outfits. She used one jacket to put together seven different looks with an existing wardrobe.
"An easy way to change up the look of any piece or outfit is to change accessories hand bags, shoes, jewelry. Depending on the colors you can mix and match and add new colors," Patterson said.
The jacket is a classic tweed and neutral in color.
"Not only does it go for fall and winter, but spring and summer as well. I can wear this jacket year round, which opens up a whole new world of possibilities," Patterson said.
