Four inmates thwarted in escape from Harris County Jail
Officers say the four Harris County Jail inmates climbed into a ventilation shaft and made it to the roof before they were apprehended again.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Four inmates are back in their cells after police say they attempted to break out of the Harris County Jail.

Officers say the four prisoners reached the roof of the jail building by climbing through the ventilation system.

When they reached the top, they realized police had surrounded the building and there was no way to escape.

The inmates were returned to their cells.
