There are hundreds of photos of Marilyn Monroe, one of Hollywood's most iconic stars, but the most famous photo of all was shot on September 15, 1954 by photographer Sam Shaw on the set of "Seven Year Itch."

Sam Shaw shot the famous "flying skirt" image as his friend Marilyn Monroe was filming a scene on Lexington Avenue at 52nd Street. A passing subway blew Monroe's skirt up as she said, "Isn't it delicious."

The movie "Seven Year Itch" was directed by Billy Wilder. The romantic comedy's popularity has been long-since eclipsed by the world famous photo.
