GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The crystal blue water that became the big draw of Galveston Island at least twice last year has made its debut in 2019.

The Galveston Island Twitter account posted pictures and video Friday of the water looking as blue as the last time.

Last July, beachgoers were treated to the serene scene.

Before that, thousands of people flocked to Galveston beaches around Memorial Day and in the first week of June as crystal clear water shimmered off Galveston's coastline.

Outside of these rare times, Galveston typically has muddy water crashing the beach.
