Good Housekeeping's 7 health food trends for 2015

Pomegranate and quinoa have had their time as foods that were all the rage, but it's a new year, and that means new foods crazes on the horizon.

From vegetables to drinks to snacks, Good Housekeeping has put together a trendy seven list of healthy foods you'll be seeing a lot of this year.

Jaclyn London, the nutrition director at the Good Housekeeping Institute, ran down her picks, as well as what to look for and why.

"Be as close to nature as possible," she said. "So we are looking at things that are the most whole version, the most whole version of the food."

And London points out that everything is easy to find in stores.

First on the list, move over kale and say hello to the broccoleaf.

"Broccoleaf is actually the leaf that the broccoli head is growing," London said. "So instead of just tossing it away from your cutting board, you can actually use it."

Next up are tiger nuts.

"They're not nuts at all," London said "They're actually tubers. They are sort of like potatoes."

Seaweed, another superfood, is still in, and so is coconut water. But now you'll find some with added juice. You'll also notice a bunch of new ancient grains out there.

London says to sneak in some extra vegetables with yogurt, and to check out beet and parsnip. But watch the sugar, as London recommends no more than 12 grams per 6-ounce serving.

And no longer just for kids, squeezable snacks are perfect if you're on the go.

Finally, sprinkle some hemp seeds in soup, smoothies and salad.
