SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) -- Hurricane Harvey can't keep the Houston Ballet from dancing through the holiday season! As the Theatre District works to recover from the storm's devastating flooding, the ballet's holiday production of "The Nutcracker" will open in Sugar Land.
From Dec. 10 - 23, the Smart Financial Centre will host the ballet. The production will move to the Hobby Center on Dec. 30 until the end of its run on Jan. 6.
The production was originally scheduled to run at the Wortham Theatre, which sustained heavy flood damage during Harvey. A company representative said all of the production's sets and costumes were out of the reach of Harvey's floodwaters during the storm.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Oct. 14 on HoustonBallet.org.
