HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Thousands of balloons are being inflated for one of Houston's most memorable New Year's Eve parties.
This will be the 40th year the Hyatt Regency Downtown drops balloons on New Year's Eve and this year they're going big.
The party has a ruby red theme, and a 1.5 carat ruby ring will be given away as part of the celebration.
When midnight strikes, 50,000 balloons will drop from the hotel's 33-story atrium.
Workers began filling the balloons Saturday.
You must be 21 or older to attend the party.
