HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The manhunt for a suspected gunman is underway after two people were shot at an apartment complex in northwest Harris County on Sunday night, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the Towne Lake Apartments on Timber Creek Place Drive and found a 12-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man shot.
They were rushed to the hospital, where the 19-year-old is undergoing surgery, and the child was alert and talking, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators believe the victims and the suspect know each other, but an investigation is underway.
Lt. R. Berry said deputies have identified the 32-year-old suspect who is still at large, but have not shared any other information with the public.
