HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A search for multiple gunmen is underway after they opened fire at an armored truck on Tuesday afternoon in southeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police responded to a shooting call at around 3 p.m. at 9411 Cullen Boulevard.
Authorities said that four men ambushed a Brinks armored guard as he was delivering cash to a Bank of America ATM.
The suspects shot at the guard, and the guard shot back, according to HPD.
One suspect took off in a white Chevy Impala. When the other three fled, they later carjacked a woman in a parking lot, police said.
"It is very concerning that they ran from this scene, carjacked a woman, and put her in danger," HPD Lt. Larry Crowson said.
Law enforcement said the stolen car was found on Rockingham Street near Ferdinand Street.
No injuries have been reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
"A very dangerous situation for the guard and any citizens in the area," Crowson said. "So we are very fortunate today that no one was struck by any of the gunfire."
