HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Scattered showers and storms continue to move through Southeast Texas today ahead of our next cool front.
Temperatures are peaking in the mid-80s before the front moves through, then dropping quickly into the 50s and 60s behind it. Along the front, strong storms are possible, which could bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall. A severe storm or two with wind as the main threat can't be ruled out either. The great risk for severe weather will be east of I-45 and closer to the border with Louisiana. This front should clear from west to east this evening, with sunshine and low humidity returning on Tuesday.
Yes, but we'll still have to wait until Wednesday before we feel any of it. The humidity will drop Tuesday behind Monday's stormy cool front. Then on Wednesday a cold breeze from Canada will arrive to bring us a string of days with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s. The air is not looking as cold as some computer models were suggesting earlier this week, but it will still deliver up some delightful fall weather for the second half of next week!
Sara has dissipated but the moisture from Sara is expected to get pulled across the Gulf bringing rain chances to parts of the U.S. Gulf Coast midweek. Head to our daily Tropical Update page for a complete look at what we're tracking in the tropics.
