HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A strong cold front moved in early Thanksgiving bringing cold air back to SE Texas.
That cold air will continue to move in overnight which will allow temps to drop down to the 40s, and in some spots down to the upper 30s, for Friday morning. Friday will be a gorgeous day with mostly sunny skies but even with all the sun, temperatures should be limited to about 60 degrees.
Yes, it will! We'll have some lovely weather Friday through the weekend with lows in the 40s, highs in the 60s, and plenty of sunshine coming through a deck of cirrus clouds.
A rainy area of low pressure looks to spin up off the Texas coastline after the weekend, bringing us a decent chance for rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Those showers could continue through Thursday and Friday, too. At this time we are anticipating about an inch of rain for most with higher amounts near the coast. The exact amount of rainfall and duration of the rain will depend on where the low forms and tracks.
We aren't seeing any signs of freezing weather over the next 10 days, and long range projections now show only a low chance of a freeze for the first half of December. On average, Houston's first freeze occurs during the second week of December.
