HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A rare destructive storm has come and gone, but the toll it left is widespread and unprecedented, especially in downtown Houston.

Tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued throughout the early evening on Thursday as a main line pushed eastward.

Houston city officials confirmed at least four people died from the intense weather.

Drier conditions are expected Friday morning, but one more disturbance is expected to roll through during the afternoon before a stretch of drier weather returns this weekend into next week.

A weak disturbance moves in this afternoon, impacting mainly areas south of I-10. Scattered light-to-moderate showers and a couple of storms will be possible. We can't rule out an isolated strong-to-severe storm.

How is the weekend shaping up?

All things considered, it's looking like a great weekend for outdoor activities if you can survive the mosquito swarms! Morning lows will dip into the 60s on Saturday and Sunday, with afternoon highs in the low 90s. We'll get plenty of sunshine under a sunny to mostly sunny sky, and no rain is expected.
