HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's not enough that 2.3 billion Americans were hammered with robocalls this past January, but now, robocalls are going to get a lot more frequent as we get into the busy political season.

According to YouMail.com, in January, Houston was the second most robo-called city in America. Robocallers can place thousands of calls in seconds from overseas dialers outside of FCC jurisdiction and many switch phone numbers daily or hourly.

How can you combat this? Technology can help and companies like "You Mail" have what they call "smart blocking" that can block certain numbers from calling both your landlines and mobile devices. Another site that can help is one called www.nomorobo.com.
