Hammy reportedly lived alongside dogs in his previous home. Animal services said the pig was abandoned by his family in late 2016, at which point he broke into his neighbor's house in search of food.

The neighbor called Animal Control, and Hammy had been under their care ever since.

Meet Hammy, an adorable pet pig in Pearland who needs a new home.

Animal control was having a hard time getting Hammy adopted, because the owners could only live outside of Pearland city limits. Pearland does not allow for swine to be kept as pets.

Hammy is a unique swine. He acts like a dog. He wags his tail and sits on command for treats. But most importantly, he doesn't stink.

Congratulations, Hammy! We are so happy that you found a home.
