Woman accused of stabbing dad in front of child turns self in

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 35-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend as his daughter watched turned herself in Wednesday, police said.

Sharon Phillips is charged with murder in connection to the November 15 attack outside a convenience store in southwest Houston. Police say Phillips pulled a knife on Brandon Andrews, 25, during a conversation that witnesses say turned into a heated argument.

Police say Phillips approached Andrews, who came the store with his daughter and father to shop.

According to investigators, Philips stabbed the victim multiple times in the chest. Witnesses told police Phillips then sped off in a gold Buick with another driver.

Andrews tried to drive himself to the hospital but he collapsed at the wheel, crashing the car a few yards from the store.

Police pronounced Andrews dead at the scene. The victim's child and father were not hurt in the accident.
