Bomb squad clears suspicious device on Highway 6 in Santa Fe

A bomb squad removed a device that had Highway 6 shut down in both directions Monday

SANTA FE, TX (KTRK) -- Highway 6 in Santa Fe was closed in both directions for about an hour while a bomb squad focused on a suspicious device near the train crossing.

A small cylinder could be seen at the train tracks near the intersection of Highway 6 and Tower Road. A HazMat crew was also monitoring.

Team members utilized a robotic device before finally deeming the item to be non-threatening. Highway 6 opened back up a little after 3pm.
