Police investigating murder-suicide in NW Houston

HOUSTON -- Two people were found dead at a motel in northwest Houston. Police are calling it a murder-suicide.

Officers were called out to the Red Roof Inn on Highway 290 at Langfield around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. Police were told a man and woman had been shot and killed.

Officers say it appears the man shot the woman in the head with a shotgun and then turned the gun on himself.

Police say the couple were in the process of being evicted from the apartment complex behind the Red Roof Inn before the shooing occurred. Police say the couple, who were both born in the 1970s, had a history of family violence.
