EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Police chase alleged wrong-way big rig driver
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A SWAT standoff with a man in an 18-wheeler has just ended in the Garden Oaks area of northwest Houston.
HPD says it attempted to stop the big rig after it was seen driving in the wrong direction.
The driver is accused of leading police in a chase. That chase ended a short time later on Ella Boulevard and Candlelight Lane.
When police tried to approach the truck, officers say the driver began acting erratically and barricaded himself inside the cab of the 18-wheeler.
A SWAT team was called and negotiators worked to talk to the man inside the truck.
