Burglar caught after leaving Facebook open
Police arrested Russell D. Sipe, 30, on burglary charges.

LEXINGTON, KY (KTRK) -- A burglar thought he'd committed the perfect crime when he robbed a gym in Lexington, Kentucky.

Police say Russell D. Sipe, 30, entered the 24/7 Workout Anytime Fitness Center and acted like he worked there, WLEX-TV reports. Police say Sipe rummaged through front desk drawers, entered business offices and even made phone calls from the front desk.

Two hours later, he was gone - with a stolen credit card, $10 in cash and a set of keys.

But police say he made one crucial mistake. While making those phone calls, he also logged onto his personal Facebook account using the gym's computer. He didn't log off.

Police say the Facebook page was still open on the front desk computer the next day. Sipe, who didn't have a gym membership to the facility, was arrested a short time later on burglary charges.
