HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Charges have been filed in a massive four-alarm fire that destroyed much of a northwest Houston apartment complex yesterday.

Danny Isidoro, 18, has been arrested and charged with reckless arson following the fire that burned at the Gentry House Apartments on 9001 Kempwood.

Three firefighters were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The American Red Cross opened a shelter at nearby Edgewood Elementary School. A small room at the school quickly filled with donations from the community. The Red Cross has stopped accepting donations for now because it's received an overwhelming amount of clothes and items for victims of the fire.

The church next door has stepped in to help, but it is not certain how much it can handle donations wise. The Red Cross reminds people they can also simply donate cash.
