Gut-busting menu awaits baseball fans on Opening Day
An incredible menu of innovative snacks await baseball fans on Opening Day

While the Astros game has been postponed because of the weather in New York, it doesn't mean we can't get into the Opening Day spirit.

Ballparks across the country are making the stadium experience one you will never forget with gut-busting menu items.

ABC's Rob Marciano tried out some of the most unique options. But this year, you can forget the peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

A dietitian shares her tips for eating healthy at the ballpark

Instead, load up on these crazy, extravagant Opening Day foods.

The Mets are way out in left field with a peanut butter coated bacon on a stick, while the Braves are debuting a 20-ounce burger complex with five slices of cheddar cheese plus bacon, slid between two pizzas for buns.

In Minnesota, the Twins are bringing the heat with a Buffalo Chicken Bloody Mary, complete with a chicken wing. If that's not enough, go for the double play and add a bacon cheeseburger slider for an extra $4.

In Cleveland, the Indians slider dog is making its first appearance. It's a hot dog with Froot Loops, mac and cheese, and bacon.

Down south, the Texas Rangers have a hit with fried chicken and doughnut skewers.

If all this sounds like a tummy ache waiting to happen, however, you can actually choose a healthy snack at the ballpark.

Dietician Kristin Kirkpatrick tells abc with a little planning, you can actually eat healthy while enjoying America's pastime.

First, watch out for convenience foods that come right to your seat, because these are usually the least healthy of all. If all else fails, make sure to remember portion control. Don't get the double dog, but just the single hot dog.

Second, opt for smaller portions to help limit the number of calories you take in. Also, remember that alcoholic beverages and sodas do contribute to calories.

Finally, plan ahead by going to the ballpark's website for possible nutritional facts on your favorite snacks. That way, you can enjoy your favorites in moderation.
