Free food offers for Houston first responders

Dish Society has free food for first responders
First responders, lunch or dinner is on Dish Society today.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- While first-responders are busy in the relief efforts of the Harvey flood event, some local eateries are doing their part to make sure they are also well fed.

Pei Wei is inviting all Houston-area First Responders to eat free at their restaurants all day now through Sept. 8. Free meal includes regular size entrée and a non-alcoholic beverage. Applicable ID must be presented at the time of redemption. Valid for uniformed personnel, or with applicable first responder ID.

Grimaldi's Pizzeria: Now until Sept. 8, first responders can get complimentary meals at any of their locations, including Friendswood, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands and the Houston location on Queensbury Lane.

Goode Company Barbeque restaurants (Kirby Drive, Katy Freeway, Northwest Freeway) are offering free meals to first responders for the foreseeable future (dine in and take out). Goode Co. asks that first responders coordinate pick ups through BBQ managers.

Corner Bakery Cafe is offering free coffee to all volunteers at all Houston locations.

Peli Peli Kitchen is allowing first responders to come by for meals at its location.

Killen's BBQ and Kellen's Burgers is continuing a fundraiser to feed evacuees and first-responders. The restaurants are hoping to raise $200,000 to provide 30,000 meals. You can donate at their GoFundMe page.

Fogo de Chao is offering all first responders a free lunch or dinner at restaurants in both Houston (8250 Westheimer Rd.) and The Woodlands (1900 Hughes Landing Blvd. Suite 400) now through at least Sept. 15.
